Miami Heat sharpshooter Tyler Herro received a positive, COVID-19 test result moments before their February 11 game against the Houston Rockets, per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.

This caused him to sit out the game. Apparently, this result was a false positive. In an interview with the Miami Herald, Herro detailed the happenings.

“ They [Heat personnel] said that I tested positive. I had to sit in the arena and watch the game in this little room. I completed like two or three tests and they all came back negative. So that allowed me to travel with the team to Utah.”

Unfortunately, this was not Herro's first brush with positive test results. During the period of the NBA shut down, he had tested positive. The Heat guard almost missed a game on February 1st, because someone who lives with Herro also had a positive result. This turned out to be a false positive and so Herro did not miss any games.

The Heat youngster added, “It’s crazy. I feel like my name keeps coming up in it. Now we’ve had two false positives under my name. So it’s all part of the world we’re living in right now. I just hope I don’t have to continue to deal with it.”

The Heat have been battered by absences due to league health and safety protocols. Key players, such as Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Goran Dragic have been unavailable. With all these absences, which resulted in missed games and practice, Miami has struggled this season after making an appearance in the NBA Finals.
