Miami Heat rookie Bam Adebayo is everything a team wants in a big man — tall, strong, physical with a big wingspan and ruthless in the paint.

Yet his musical preference counteracts everything that his exterior shows, boasting a more delicate, refined taste for different artists.

While the lot of NBA players are plugging into Drake, Future, Kendrick Lamar, and DJ Khaled, Adebayo listens to Whitney Houston and Katy Perry — a complete shocker for most that find out about his music taste.

“I mean,” Adebayo told Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, “they just see a big dude that's 6-10 and they think he's listening to all the hip-hop and stuff like that. I just listen to my Katy Perry.”

“It's just her mood toward her music. She’s always happy and perky. So, I mean, I like to be happy. Might as well listen to happy music.”

Even former coach John Calipari was shocked to find out of his musical preference at first, later putting it on blast on his own website for the sake of giggles.

Yet the big man maintains that his musical choices won't change, not even Whitney Houston, which he plays right before game night.

“I play one Whitney Houston song,” he said, mentioning “I Will Always Love You,” “and after that I’m good.”
