There has been plenty of speculation regarding this year's participants for the Slam Dunk Contest, and Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges continues to show why he should represent the home team.

Bridges has produced some electrifying dunks thus far in his rookie campaign.

He was able to provide a reminder of his candidacy for All-Star Weekend during the second quarter of Friday night's showdown versus the Milwaukee Bucks, via NBA Twitter:

It is undoubtedly encouraging to see Bridges continuing to make plays. His highlight dunks have been one of the few bright spots for Charlotte in the 2018-19 NBA season. This one here helped cap off an impressive half against Milwaukee.

Unfortunately, that was the high point for Bridges in the game. The rookie was not able to get much else going as he finished with just four points on just 2-of-8 shooting while missing all three of his three-point attempts.

Although he managed to tack on six rebounds, two assists, and a steal, the Hornets were in desperate need of scoring during their disastrous fourth quarter.

As a result, they ultimately lost 108-99 to the No. 1-seeded Bucks.

Aside from his dunking prowess, Bridges' performance has largely fluctuated throughout the year. His inability to produce on a consistent basis has resulted in less playing time over the last month. There is no question that he has failed to live up to the hype of being a first-round pick.

Perhaps a shot at this year's dunk title could be the kind of confidence boost he needs to help him progress in the second half of the season.
