Following the official departure of Chris Paul from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday morning, much of the attention has shifted toward Blake Griffin's future with the organization.

Griffin is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the coming days and will have a plethora of options at his disposal on the open market. One of which will be the Boston Celtics, who have been rumored to have some significant interest in acquiring him this offseason.

In light of that, Celtics All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas took to Instagram to voice his plea to Griffin to join him in Boston next season:

Although the Clippers are expected to make a hard push to retain Griffin when he hits free agency this upcoming weekend,  the 28-year-old will explore the various landing spots courting him. Beyond the Celtics, that could include the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder.

If Griffin makes his departure to get fresh start with another organization, Boston falls right into that mix given that they could provide him with the best chance to win. The Celtics are coming off a season where they finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference and made the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in five years.

A core group of Thomas, Griffin, and Al Horford has the potential to dethron the Cleveland Cavaliers in the East. Paul George could still join the mix as well, although Boston's preference is adding Gordon Hayward.

There are still plenty of puzzle pieces that need to fall in place, but acquiring Griffin has the potential to be a huge step in the right direction.
