New York Jets defensive lineman Leonard Williams has not exactly had the greatest season, and now, he is a bit less rich.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Williams was fined $43,449 for multiple penalties during his team's loss against the Green Bay Packers last week.

He was fined $10,026 for an unnecessary roughness penalty for a hit on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and he was then hit with an extra $13,369 fine for an unsportsmanlike conduct flag for when he threw Green Bay offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga to the ground and then threw a punch at him, resulting in an ejection.

Perhaps Williams was just taking out his frustrations for a poor season on the Packers?

Williams later apologized for his actions:

“I fully regret it, obviously,” Williams said, according to Andy Vasquez of NorthJersey.com. “I wish I could’ve been there for my teammates. There are no excuses for what I did.”

The 24-year-old, who is also one of the Jets' team captains, then added that he is “not a dirty player” and that most other people would agree with that notion.

Since making the Pro Bowl during his second season in 2016, Williams has been a pretty big disappointment, finishing with just 47 tackles, two sacks and an interception last year and totaling 36 tackles and four sacks through 15 games this season.

Williams, who played his collegiate football at USC, was originally selected by the Jets with the sixth overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.

New York enters its final game of the season against the New England Patriots on Sunday with a record of 4-11.
