New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell claims that he was close to being dealt before the NFL trade deadline and revealed the list of teams that were interested in him.

According to Bell, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans, and the Green Bay Packers.

“Honestly, it was close,” Bell said to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “I mean, obviously, it was at the time just hearing everything out and seeing how it plays out. Obviously, I didn’t want to get traded but if it did happen I was ready and I would do what I had to do but, yeah, I just understand from the Jets perspective if they were to trade me and they got some value out of it, I understand where they’re coming from.

Bell said he didn't want to get traded but he knows it's part of the business. He was ready to move on if the team decided to trade him.

“[I]t’s a business — strictly business — and I understand that whole business-decision thing, so I didn’t take too much offense to it. I just kept my head down and once the trade deadline went by I was ready to put my head down and get back to work.”

Bell also hinted that a team that was looking to trade for him wanted him to restructure his contract to get a deal done. He said that he thought about it, but he didn't sit out an entire year to not get paid and he wasn't ready to restructure his contract yet.
