Kentucky Wildcats head coach and top-flight college recruiter John Calipari wants to make it clear once and for all: neither he nor anyone from his camp have contacted the New York Knicks with regards to a possible job opportunity.

Calipari sent out a tweet on Thursday, one that he hopes will put to rest any outstanding rumors that he's after a Knicks gig.

The Knicks are actively looking for a new president of basketball operations after handing Phil Jackson the pink slip earlier this week.

Aside from Calipari, other personalities linked to the Knicks' front office vacancy include Isiah Thomas, former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin, and current Toronto Raptors GM, Masai Ujiri.

Calipari has worked in the NBA before, coaching the New Jersey Nets for almost three full seasons, compiling a 72-112 overall record.

Financially, Calipari doesn't need the NBA to be secure, as he's under contract withe the Wildcats until 2024, signing a new deal last March that would make his bank account fatter by $7.75 million next season and by $8 million in each of the succeeding years of his deal's duration.

Calipari is currently in Egypt to coach Team USA's Under-19 FIBA World Cup squad and apparently, to experience the joy of riding a camel.
