AJ Casey, a five-star prospect out of the 2022 college basketball recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Kansas Jayhawks.

This news happened by way of Rivals and Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten, who relayed the information to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter.

Obviously, the timing here is strange, as the Kansas Jayhawks have been sent a formal notice of allegations by the NCAA. Depending on how all of that goes, in doomsday scenario situations, the young man might not even be allowed to commit to the program.

Furthermore, with the NBA inevitably doing away with the one-and-done rule, a double-draft could be looming, resulting in someone of Casey's caliber to skip college basketball completely.

Most reputable recruiting service outlets not only have AJ Casey pegged as a five-star caliber player, but most tend to agree, he's one of the 12 (or so) best players in the entire 2022 class.

Given the NCAA situation, it'll be interesting to see how Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks are able to navigate the recruiting trail moving forward. Until then, obviously expect the program to continue to chase of players with upside such as AJ Casey.
