Ole Miss coach Kermit Davis thinks his team will look much more like an SEC squad this season as the Rebels try to get back to the NCAA Tournament.

After being picked last in the SEC preseason media poll prior to last season, Ole Miss proved its critics wrong and went dancing in Davis' first year in Oxford.

And now he feels like he has a roster that has the necessary elements to compete once again at the highest level in one of the most competitive conferences in the country.

“I like where our team is,” Ole Miss coach Kermit Davis said via the Associated Press. “Compared to last year’s team, I was very proud of that team, we’re deeper more athletic. We look more like an SEC team.”

Davis has one of the best backcourts in the league thanks to the return of Breein Tyree and Devontae Shuler, with sophomore forward Blake Hinson also expected to play a huge role after an impressive freshman season.

The Rebels will start the new season on Nov. 8 against Arkansas State.
