New York Knicks forward Kevin Knox showed he can be an effective two-way player on Saturday, converting defense into offense with a brilliant play against the Houston Rockets at Madison Square Garden. After showing great reflexes by snatching Mason Jones' pass mid-air, the 21-year-old gave the rock up to teammate Immanuel Quickley and ran to the other end of the floor.
Quickley rewarded his hustle by throwing an on-target alley-oop pass, which Knox finished to perfection via a two-handed hammer. That was Knox's only basket of the game, but he certainly made it count.
The pair of promising youngsters gave the Knicks some major boost off the bench, as New York came away with an easy 121-99 victory. Immanuel Quickley continued the impressive start to his rookie season, pitching in 22 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 from deep, along with four rebounds and two dimes in just 21 minutes.
Kevin Knox, on the other hand, is still trying to earn the trust of head coach Tom Thibodeau and become a fixture in his rotation this season. Prior to the contest, he was averaging 5.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 21 appearances. While Thibs is known not to play young players, Quickley and Knox will get even more playing time if they continue to come up with solid plays like they showed against the Rockets.
