The Kevin Durant sweepstakes has officially started, and with it comes the recruitment process the New York Knicks will embark on over the course of the offseason. Businesses around The Big Apple have wasted no time, already putting up a billboard near Madison Square Garden as the Knicks await the Golden State Warriors for a Friday night tilt at the mecca.

The billboard features Durant in a Knicks uniform and his social media handle @easymoneysniper next to injured star Kristaps Porzingis along with the Larry O'Brien trophy. The ad, sponsored by NYC ADS and Ride Share Knight features the hashtag #KDNY2019 — a symbol of the potential to reel him in during the summer of 2019 as an unrestricted free agent.

Kevin Durant has been noncommittal of a return to the Warriors, but has maintained his focus is on the season at hand and the pursuit of a three-peat with his current team.

Many experts have offered an arrival to NYC is possible due to his strong connections to manager and business partner Rich Kleiman, a native New Yorker who has hopes of running the Knicks someday.

The Knicks also offer him the chance to be the leading star in a new team, unlike in Golden State, where there is a feeling he will always come second to Stephen Curry, who has been with the franchise for his entire NBA career. Anything could happen, so it's possible Kevin Durant could find a new home in New York.
