LaMelo Ball is regarded by many as one of the top prospects in the upcoming NBA Draft. Yet, Ball claimed during a Zoom media session the only team he has spoken to is the New York Knicks.

As K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago says, however, the answer might have to be taken with “a grain of salt.”

It should come as no surprise that the Knicks have already been in touch with Ball's camp.

There have been plenty of rumors about the mutual fondness between the two sides, though road blocks remain. The Knicks have the No. 8 pick in the draft, which might be too late to grab Ball. This would obviously seem to necessitate them moving up, and it remains to be seen whether New York would be willing to give up what is necessary to do that.

Then again, Ball's answer also might do more to enhance the notion many teams do not know where to go in a relatively underwhelming draft class.

Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report reports the Minnesota Timberwolves, owners of the No. 1 pick, are currently unsure which direction they are headed at the top of the draft board. Meanwhile, all options would seem to be on the table for the Golden State Warriors at the No. 2 spot.

In any case, it would seem the Knicks remain high on Ball. Can they swing a deal to move up?

Ball would be an interesting fit in New York. He hardly adds perimeter shooting, but would allow RJ Barrett to move to shooting guard while giving the Knicks a capable playmaker at the point guard spot.
