The New York Knicks have one roster spot remaining after forward Luke Kornet moved on to the Chicago Bulls. Marc Berman of The New York Post reports that veteran forward Lance Thomas will likely land the 15th and last spot on the roster.

All those roster spots filled, and none to Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving, or any other big name free agent.

The Knicks waived Thomas on June 29 in a move that appeared to be a cap clearing move ahead of free agency.

Thomas, the longest tenured incumbent Knick, signed a four-year $27-million deal with the team back in 2016. The final year of his deal is worth nearly $7.6 million, but is non-guaranteed.

This would have given the Knicks more cap flexibility heading into free agency. Unfortunately, they weren't able to use any of that flexibility to land a marquee free agent.

Now that the market has dried up – and did it ever for these poor Knickerbockers – New York is reportedly considering bringing back the veteran forward.

Thomas has played for the Knicks over the past four seasons. He played just 46 games last year, and averaged just 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Certainly, this move won't move the needle at all for Knicks fans. New York watched its state rival, the Brooklyn Nets land their two desired superstars in Durant and Irving. Likewise, they also saw former starting center DeAndre Jordan cross the bridge to Brooklyn to join forces with the superstar tandem.

The Knicks, instead, ended up with an amazing core of Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, and Reggie Bullock.
