With the order for next month's NBA Draft now sorted out, teams that are part of it are already looking at the potential players they can add to their fold. Two of them are the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks, who are selecting at number three and eight, respectively.

As both teams need a point guard who can run their offense and also score when needed, it has been reported, via Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog, that they are looking to schedule a workout with N.C. State standout Dennis Smith Jr., who is widely considered as one of the best floor generals in this year's talented pool of players.

“The Knicks and 76ers are among the teams who’ve reached out to N.C. State point guard Dennis Smith Jr.’s camp to set up workouts ahead of the NBA Draft.”

The 6-foot-3 guard had a solid campaign with the Wolfpack this year with averages of 18.1 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.6 rebounds. His former head coach, Orlando Early, had nothing but good words to say about him and believes he is an NBA talent, via FanRagSports.com.

“I think his basketball future is ahead of him. People forget that he sat out his senior year of high school and didn’t play [with an ACL tear], so he enrolled in January [2016] and couldn’t work out with us. And this year he was going against teams that are prepared to stop him and game-planning to stop him, he had never seen that. So it was a big adjustment for him, but still he had a great year.”

“I think his competitive spirit, his mental toughness, he brings that. He’s still going to learn. He’s got a lot to learn just like every guy in the draft but right off the bat his competitiveness and his ability to score the ball is going to help whoever is in position to draft him.”

With the Knicks, the biggest question is his adaptability to the triangle offense and if he can handle the pressure in New York, while the 76ers offer a chance to play alongside some of the most promising young players in the league, but may also mean needing to mature quickly in order to speed up their rebuilding process.
