About a month ago, we had heard of reports saying that Kris Dunn did not want to go to the Boston Celtics in the NBA draft. Dunn was a spectacular point guard at the University of Providence for the past two years. He averaged 16 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds this past season.

His production in the college ranks has earned him a lot of praise and thus has put him in talks of becoming a top 5 pick in Thursday's draft.

As we know, the Boston Celtics have the 3rd overall pick and have been looking at Kris Dunn. With the rumors that he didn't want to go to Boston circulating, the Celtics were getting concerned with the idea of drafting him.

Kris Dunn, to avoid any confusion, decided to have a phone interview with the Boston Globe's Adam Himmelsbach just a couple of days ago:

“I mean, it would be unbelievable to be selected by the Celtics. My dream is just to get drafted, and that I have a chance to be a top-five player, it’s a blessing.”

Regarding the rumors that were going around, Dunn had this to say:

“I think that’s just a rumor going around. That never came out of my mouth, that I didn’t want to play for any team.”

Kris Dunn went on to say in the interview that he would relish the opportunity to play alongside the Celtics and Marcus Smart, who he had gone head-to-head against a couple of times in AAU. We'll see if Kris Dunn gets the chance to play for Boston next season on Thursday.
