Once NBA fans accepted the fact that LeBron James will indeed go to the Los Angeles Lakers, the next question that needed an answer was: how will James deal with LaVar Ball — his teammate's boisterous father? None other than the Ball patriarch answered that question.

LaVar and his sons Lonzo and LiAngelo made an in-studio appearance with V-103 in Atlanta, in which he broke down what he and James have in common. For him, they have three things in common: family, business, and winning — and those are all they need to forge a great relationship:

“The media, all y’all try to say, ‘Ah LaVar — LeBron’s gonna tell LaVar to shut up and this and that.’ They try to create this (wedge) between us where it’s nothing there. And, I see why. Because LeBron is very successful. I’m successful. They don’t want us together. So, it’s better to make one black man go after another one. As opposed to hey, what if me and LeBron get a long? We’re gonna get along. You know why? Because we have three things in common, which is family, business and winning. We got those three things — we can’t lose. They’re trying to not make this work.”

At this moment in time, it's still unsure whether Lonzo and James will indeed wear the same basketball jerseys. Ball has been involved in trade rumors. A quick glance at the current Lakers roster and one will immediately conclude that it's not championship caliber material just yet. Ball or a few of the Lakers' young core will have to go if the team wants to snag a proven star player.
