LeBron James just wrapped up “Space Jam: A New Legacy”, which was a massive box office success. But the Los Angeles Lakers star apparently isn't done with Hollywood just yet.

King James is not only planning to put on a show with the Lakers at Staples Center, he's also set to produce a brand new hoops-related Netflix project called “Rez Ball.”

Via Mia Galuppo of the Hollywood Reporter:

“Rez Ball is described as Friday Night Lights meets Hoosiers. The story, according to the Lakers star's project description, ‘follows the Chuska Warriors, a Native American high school basketball team from Chuska, New Mexico, that must band together after losing their star player if they want to keep their quest for a state championship alive. It's an all-American underdog story about Navajo kids and coaches told from the inside-out.'”

That's a huge pivot from shooting hoops with Bugs Bunny. But safe to say Lakers fans and LeBron fans alike will probably look to tune in to James' latest project. The premise itself already feels like a heartwarming tale that could inspire young hoopers out there.

Hopefully the project garners as much success as the Lakers expect to garner on the basketball court.
