The Los Angeles Lakers already have the younger Gasol brother on their roster. Big brother Pau Gasol is hoping to join Marc Gasol in Los Angeles.

Pau told ESPN's Zach Lowe he is keen on an NBA comeback, and would love to join the Lakers. However, Gasol did acknowledge he is hardly in position to barter considering he does not have a ton of offers:

“There is meaning and history there,” Gasol said, via Lowe. “I'm not going to lie. It would be very special, and now that my brother [Marc] is there, even more special. But I'm not in a position now to be very demanding. I don't have 10 offers on the table.”

Gasol also elaborated on what he is hoping to achieve in a possible comeback. The Spaniard wants to feel like he is actually contributing, rather than simply taking up a roster spot:

“I want the opportunity to contribute — to feel needed,” Gasol said, via Lowe. “Not just to be there. That's not who I am. I want to enjoy it, and players usually enjoy playing.”

It remains to be seen whether the Lakers feel they need more frontcourt depth.

Los Angeles pivoted from Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee by signing Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell. However, Pau–like his younger brother–is extremely gifted in terms of his vision on the low block, and he would also be an interesting pick-and-pop option given his ability to shoot the midrange.

The other thing of note is how much money Gasol is looking for, because it might force the Lakers to move some cash or move a player.

Gasol is already a Laker great for his role in helping the team win consecutive NBA titles in 2009 and 2010. But he is hoping for another chapter with the Purple and Gold, and the chance to play with his younger brother.
