Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić is reportedly closing in on a lucrative, multi-year endorsement deal with Jordan Brand, according to Shams Charania and Tim Cato of The Athletic.

If Dončić indeed signs with Jordan Brand, he will join a list of athletes such as Blake Griffin, Jimmy Butler, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, and Zion Williamson. Managing to land both Williamson and Dončić would mark two of the most high profile players that have recently entered the NBA.

Dončić is having a tremendous season with averages of 29.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 8.9 assists, which has inserted him into the MVP conversation. He is currently leading the NBA's top offense (116.2 offensive rating) as a 20-year-old in a large market like Dallas.

It is worth noting, Dončić has spent the 2019-20 season wearing shoes from a variety of different companies. He had a deal with Nike during his rookie season and it expired in the offseason. Since then, he has worn shoes from companies such as Jordan Brand, Under Armour, Puma, and Adidas at times.

The power of Dončić's marketability was shown when he dropped a 40-point triple-double against the San Antonio Spurs while wearing Under Armour Curry 7 “Sour Patch Kids.” The highlights of his performance and photos of his shoes went viral as a result of his excellent display.

It wouldn't be surprising to see Luka Dončić receive his own line of signature shoes after signing a multi-year endorsement deal with a shoe company.
