On his “Open Floor” Podcast for Sports Illustrated, NBA analyst Andrew Sharp recently compared Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic to a 7-11 employee. Sharp picked on the 19-year-old Mavs guard's “non-NBA” physique, and used a pretty funny metaphor to belabor his point.

As expected, Reddit had a feast day from this unusual comparison, courtesy of a thread started by a Redditor that goes by the username u/prawnburgundy.

The thread certainly did not disappoint, and used Sharp's comments as a starting point for one of the most hilarious threads we've come across over the past few days. Be warned though — there is a lot of NSFW talk on the discussion. Then again, this is Reddit, so we should expect nothing less.

Going through the thread is a great way to unproductively spend time on the world wide web, while garnering a few chuckles in the process. However, there are some bits with a more serious tone, and to be honest, there are a number of interesting and perceptive points of view shared that could be of some value.

Drafted third overall by the Dallas Mavericks last June (via a Draft day trade with the Atlanta Hawks that involved fellow highly-touted rookie Trae Young), Doncic is the new face of the Mavs franchise. He had a very successful and highly-publicized run in the EuroLeague —  where he won MVP honors last season — prior to entering the Draft.

It will definitely be worth monitoring how Luka Doncic's game translates to the NBA level.
