Ever since its inception in the 90s, eBay has grown to be one of the leading names when it comes to eCommerce. This has been quite evident in the sharp surge in interest and demand for sports cards more than a year ago. And with things steadily growing, the platform has decided to impose stricter regulations to protect everyone's interest. The thing is, one of the biggest NBA card-selling brands has earned the ire of eBay over accusations of shilling.

Just recently, eBay announced that they are restricting PWCC's ability to list their cards and sell them on their platform. This comes after the brand was connected to individuals who were accused of placing bids on their items to increase the overall selling price, or more commonly known as shill bidding.
In the same statement, eBay added that their policies and standards are aimed to create a marketplace where people can transact with confidence. The company didn't disclose the identity of the individuals accused of shill bidding and how they were connected to PWCC.
PWCC has long been one of the more popular brands to list its card products on eBay. The eCommerce platform, meanwhile, has made significant efforts to promote them in the past. At the time of the announcement, the Oregon-based seller had over 17,000 live auctions posted on eBay's website. For their part, eBay worked to remove these auctions as soon as possible.

On the other side of the fence, PWCC released their own statement which said that eBay's recent announcement is defamatory. They are shocked by the platform's move and stated that their employees have never been engaged in shill bidding or any act that violates any existing policies and standards. PWCC added that they are exploring all legal options in light of this development.
While the end is still far in sight, there's still a lot that can happen between these two companies. NBA card collectors and those who frequent both eBay and PWCC's services would want nothing more than this issue to be resolved right away.
