There's been recent rumblings of James Harden's desire to play alongside both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving with the Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets were a team that was reportedly present on Harden's “wishlist” in the event that he was moved before the start of the season. Now those same reports have become more serious on Sunday, with ESPN reporting that Harden would be intrigued at the idea of playing in Brooklyn.

Detroit Pistons Hall of Fame point guard Isiah Thomas, like much of the world, took time to react to the sports-shattering news of a possible trio in Brooklyn next season.

If the Nets are somehow able to manage a trade for Harden, they would instantly become the favorites to win it all in 2021. A trio of All-NBA players, two of whom are MVPs, would make for a dangerous force in the Eastern Conference. Both Irving and Durant are also champions, solidifying their knowledge in what it'll take from Harden to get over the hump in the playoffs.

The Rockets have tried to save face around the league, presenting the notion that they intend to “run it back” with Harden as their team leader next season despite emerging reports. Even so, the Rockets haven't been able to climb the slippery slope that is the Western Conference during Harden's time in Houston. The time may have come to part ways with their beloved superstar that they traded for back in 2012.

Houston would certainly be compensated heavily in exchange for Harden, which could help them in building for the future along with flipping some of those moveable pieces in another trade.
