Miami Heat veteran forward Andre Iguodala amazingly booked his place in his sixth consecutive NBA Finals on Sunday night, helping the Heat eliminate the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Iguodala was huge off the bench in Game 6, pouring in 15 points and knocking down all four of his 3-point attempts in 28 minutes.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors — the team Andre Iguodala went to the Finals with in his previous five trips — were some of the first personalities to send their congratulatory messages.

Both Curry and Thompson took to Instagram to heap praise on their former teammate:

Andre Iguodala was a key cog for the Warriors, who won three championships in five years. He was even awarded Finals MVP during Golden State's title win back in 2015. The 36-year-old parted ways with the Warriors last summer when the team traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of the Dubs' offseason overhaul.

While Andre Iguodala may no longer be the star he once was with the Warriors, he's still a very important player for the Heat in what has been an amazing campaign for them. It wasn't until February that the veteran joined Miami, after a lengthy standoff with the Grizzlies. He has since bought in to the reduced role he has been asked to fill with the Heat, and it has worked wonders for him and the entire squad.

Miami is now set to face off against the Los Angeles Lakers in what should be a compelling Finals series. Interestingly, Andre Iguodala will get to face off against LeBron James, who himself is going to be making his ninth trip to the Finals in 10 years. Iggy will be a key defender off the bench for the Heat to throw at The King.
