Not surprisingly, the Miami Heat are reportedly going to be quite active buyers within the next few weeks, as the trade deadline approaches. Zach Lowe of ESPN reports that the Heat front office are looking to bring in some reinforcements to help boost their title hopes this season.

Miami has been one of the biggest surprises of the campaign, as they currently hold the second-best record in the Eastern Conference at 28-12. They are indeed looking like a legitimate second-seed at the moment, and as it turns out, team president Pat Riley and company are seriously exploring the trade market to help bring their team over the edge.

They are one player away from being really dangerous. They know. They are looking, sources say. A lot of speculation about the Heat — and other teams — has centered around Jrue Holiday. He's good. The Pelicans may opt to keep him and push for the No. 8 seed. (This is what suitors expect as of now — which could of course change.)

There you have it. Lowe has pinpointed New Orleans Pelicans veteran point guard Jrue Holiday as the one player that is reportedly at the very top of their wish list. This makes a lot of sense for the Heat, considering how they are in dire need of a legitimate playmaking point guard at the moment.

Coach Erik Spoelstra has been starting rookies Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson at the guard spots, leaving most of the playmaking duties to Jimmy Butler. Holiday would instantly fill in Miami's void at the one, and should slide in nicely in the starting lineup.

The question, however, is if the Heat have enough pieces to convince New Orleans to part ways with Holiday. Riley is a master of his craft, though, so in this respect, anything is indeed possible.
