The Boston Celtics trio of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart are highly regarded as one of the best young cores in the NBA, and they will have the opportunity to earn that reputation once again as they will all look to help Team USA win the gold medal in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

But they're not the only Celtics players on the national team.

Kemba Walker, who decided to walk away from the Charlotte Hornets to have a better chance at competing for a championship, joined Boston last month via free agency. He is with Team USA as well.

Per NBC Sports' Dan Feldman, this is the first time in USA Basketball history that four of its players will be coming from only one team. The Celtics have now broken the record of the Oklahoma City Thunder (2012) and the Golden State Warriors (2016), who each had three players represent the national team, both in the Olympics.

FIBA World Cup will give Walker a great opportunity to be familiar with his new teammates. The Celtics, who are coming off a disappointing 2018-19 season, are hoping that Kemba, along with their young core, will be able to lead Boston to the promised land this upcoming season.

These four guys have something to prove, and the FIBA World Cup will allow them to show Celtics fans a glimpse of how good they can be. There aren't a lot of people who are sold on Team USA's chances to win the gold, but Walker, Tatum, Brown, and Smart are confident that the Americans have enough to be successful in the tournament.
