Jaylen Brown might have just played a big role in preventing a massive Boston Celtics collapse in Game 1 of their playoff series with the Brooklyn Nets.

To recall, the Celtics would have lost to the Nets if not for a Jayson Tatum buzzer-beating layup. Boston entered the fourth quarter up by 11 at 95-86, but a Kyrie Irving takeover that saw Brooklyn stage a 15-2 run erased that lead and put the visitors ahead in the closing seconds.

As the Nets were chipping away the Celtics' lead, though, Brown apparently delivered a motivational message to the team to keep them going.

“I remember coming back to the timeout, everybody was starting to get a little quiet,” Brown shared, per NESN. “And I said to everybody, like, ‘This is the moment where our faith needs to be the strongest. We’re gonna find a way to win this game. We’re gonna find a way to get our offensive going. Stick with it. This ain’t the time to fold to adversity. It’s time to turn it up a notch.’ And we found a way to pull it out.”

Sure enough, Jaylen Brown couldn't have said it any better. It's also one reason why he's considered among the best leaders in the NBA. During the most difficult time for his Celtics, he didn't waver and and guided his team through adversity.

While it's Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum who delivered the finishing touches for their win, Brown certainly help paved the way for it. And hey, let's not forget that it's the 25-year-old wing who made put them just one point behind to set up that game-winner.
