Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics strongly believes that Kyrie Irving's comments came from a good place.
Per Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, Tatum commented on Irving's criticism of the team. To recall, Irving said that the young guys in the team don't know what it takes to be a championship contender. Per NBA reporter Keith Smith, Irving said:
“The young guys don’t know what it takes to be a championship level team. What it takes every day. And if they think it is hard now, what do they think it will be like when we’re trying to get to the Finals?”
Though some took it the wrong way, Jayson Tatum understood where Kyrie Irving was coming from. He knows for a fact that one has to be very honest to drive a point.

Many took Irving's comments as some form of negative criticism aimed at his teammates and the Celtics organization. Some interpreted it as a sign that Irving is unhappy with the team's current state and might be on his way out soon. After all, the Celtics entered the season with great expectations. Yet they haven't played up to par yet.
Later, Irving cleared things up and said that his comments were just a by-product of his competitive spirit and immense desire to win. But for his team, especially Tatum, everything's good. He didn't need to explain himself. His teammates knew exactly what he meant when he uttered those words.
