Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving is set to make a big screen appearance yet again, as he will star in an upcoming film based on the Skirvin Hotel.
The hotel, located in Oklahoma City and frequented by NBA players visiting the city to take on the Thunder, is widely considered haunted. In fact, some players even refused to stay in the building.
It was opened in 1911, but according to UPROXX, the haunting of the hotel is traced back to the 1930s and originated from the owner of the hotel having an affair with a chambermaid.
Kyrie Irving is no stranger to the spooky nature of the hotel, and the Celtics star admits there was a connection to the idea immediately.

The movie is set to be a horror based on an oral history of the hotel and experiences surrounding it. This will be Kyrie’s second role in a motion picture, with the first being his lead role in the film “Uncle Drew.” His involvement in media have helped him grow his personal brand beyond basketball, and having marketable personas that are bigger than just the game is always great for the league.
Similar to the movie “Uncle Drew”, there is a possibility that Irving could be accompanied by other NBA players in the upcoming film about the Skirvin Hotel. The Players’ Tribune is set to have an upcoming post detailing more about the hotel and the stories players have about their time there in various stays.
