Kemba Walker is reportedly joining the Boston Celtics, and we're starting to understand why.

According to Jeff Goodman of Watch Stadium, the primary reason Walker is leaving the Charlotte Hornets for the Celtics is because the All-Star guard feels he can go on a deep playoff run in Boston. Walker is also excited to play with Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward.

The Celtics are replacing Kyrie Irving with Kemba Walker. While Walker isn't as good as Irving, Kemba isn't the diva Kyrie is and will mesh well with Brown, Tatum, Hayward and head coach Brad Stevens. Irving is expected to sign with the Brooklyn Nets.

Walker does a lot of the things Irving does. Both players can dance with the ball, score from the perimeter and paint, and take over games in the fourth quarter. This past season with the Hornets, Walker averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists while shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 84.4 percent from the free-throw line. The scoring guard made his third All-Star team, but missed the playoffs again.

The Celtics are losing Irving and Al Horford this summer. Adding Walker is a good first step, but Boston has to find a replacement for Horford, too.
