Boston Celtics wing Jayson Tatum made sure to brag about his new haircut as he was mic'd up for Boston's game against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.
Tatum boasted about having a “top five” hairline in the NBA when he gets a fresh cut:

Although there is no metric to discernibly rate player hairlines, style is certainly not lost on NBA players.
Tatum's teammate Jaylen Brown was chided by his colleagues when he shaved off the high-top fade in favor of a buzz look earlier this summer:

New season, fresh cut. 💯

Then again, the most prominent hairline–or lack thereof–still belongs to LeBron James, who has been the butt of constant jokes regarding his hair loss. That includes teammate Anthony Davis:

The Celtics are glad that Tatum has been as confident on the court as he is in his hairline.
Tatum continues to make strides as an all-around star in the league. He has increased his scoring (20.5), rebounding (6.9) and assist (2.5) averages from last season while shooting a respectable 36 percent from beyond the arc on 6.3 attempts per game.
The former Duke star is still struggling to convert close to the rim and in the midrange game, but he still boasts the kind of athleticism and strength that could make him a more lethal finisher down the line.
Perhaps the most tangible growth has come on the defensive side. Tatum entered Wednesday night's game ranked 16th in defensive win shares, according to Basketball-Reference. That puts him above glorified defensive stoppers like Kawhi Leonard.
Tatum had 10 points and seven rebounds with just over three minutes remaining in the third quarter.
