Nikola Mirotic made recent headlines, not for his fight with Bobby Portis, but for his affinity for jelly and mayo sandwiches. The gross combination has boggled the minds of many NBA players and fans, and his teammates appeared to have the same reaction as most people with reasonable taste buds when they were offered the dish.
Who is the first to try a Jelly & Mayonnaise sandwich? Yes, you read that right…jelly and mayo 😳

Apparently, if you step into Mirotic's kitchen, you are bound to get weird food combinations. While some of his teammates tried it, they were not pleased with the taste. However, Mirotic wasn't done there. He whipped up his signature “OJ and Oreos” dish, and it wasn't well received either. Apparently, Rachel Nichols, the host of ESPN's The Jump, successfully got Paul Pierce and Stephen Jackson to try Mirotic's food combination. Long story short, they didn't like it either.
The Bulls' Nikola Mitotic got some of his teammates to eat jelly-and-mayonnaise sandwiches and Oreos dipped in orange juice.
So of course on #TheJump, I asked Paul Pierce & Stephen Jackson to do it too. pic.twitter.com/PCbAqOD2Mw— Rachel Nichols (@Rachel__Nichols) January 4, 2018
After everyone seemingly clowned Mirotic's food choice, the big man himself retraced his steps on his food combinations on Twitter.

Apparently, Mirotic wanted to clarify that he doesn't enjoy eating jelly and mayo sandwiches for lunch. No one probably thought that the big man was serious about eating this weird food choice, yet he still felt compelled to tell the whole world that it was just a joke. After clarifying that he doesn't eat jelly and mayo sandwiches, Mirotic still failed to rid himself of one potential problem. He never said that he didn't enjoy eating his famous “OJ and Oreos” dish.
If Mirotic was quick to deny his craving for Mayo and Jelly sandwiches, then it would have probably made sense for him to deny dipping Oreos in orange juice as well. Maybe Mirotic actually likes “OJ and Oreos”. We may figure out soon enough.
