The Chicago Bulls have assigned shooting guard Zach LaVine and power forward Nikola Mirotic to their G League affiliate Windy City Bulls, according to the team.

Both players have missed the first 20 games of the 2017-18 regular season due to injury.

LaVine is currently rehabilitating a torn ACL in his left knee, which took place in early February against the Detroit Pistons while a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. This assignment should help as the final gear prior to making his season debut, having participated in one-on-one, three-on-three, and full on scrimmages over the past two weeks.

Mirotic suffered from a concussion and maxillary fractures after a violent incident with teammate Bobby Portis during the last practice before the start of the regular season. He's been back with the Bulls since last week, doing work on his own before being cleared for contact.

Both players should prove as a boost for a rebuilding team that now boasts the worst record in the league at 3-17, but will be a welcome sight for head coach Fred Hoiberg as he starts mixing in the pieces to this equation moving forward.

Zach LaVine is expected to take over the starting shooting guard spot upon his return, while Nikola Mirotic would have to find a niche in the rotation with an upstart rookie in Lauri Markkanen and Portis as his competitions at power forward.
