Marcus Morris had a questionable apology to the game officials after getting tossed out in the waning seconds of the Boston Celtics' 110-99 win over the Toronto Raptors.
With the game already under wraps, Morris jawed back-and-forth with Raptors star DeMar DeRozan, which caused his second double technical of the day and consequent ejection after doing the same with C.J. Miles earlier in the game.
Before leaving the game, Morris gave referee James Williams a little smack in the behind, which drew looks from the other officials as he made his way to the showers.

I just take it and go with it,” said Morris, according to ESPN's Chris Forsberg. “I kind of felt some type of way last game because I just felt like, to me, I just felt like there was some type of animosity there [from the refs], I think it was a friendly tweet. Don’t you think?”
Morris was fined $8,000 (two $3,000 fines for each technical foul and an extra $2,000 for the ejection), but he has yet to receive any discipline from the league, as making contact with an official has been frowned upon for a while.
The league is certain to review this incident and speak to Williams about it as well. While it's hard to rule it incidental contact, Williams could object it was well-mannered and Morris didn't intend any harm with the old-time gesture — but that remains to be seen in the coming days.
