Detroit Pistons star point guard Derrick Rose recently turned 32 and the three-time All-Star had a rather inspiring message on his IG page.

Rose, the youngest MVP in NBA history and one of the most popular athletes around the world, shared that he doesn't want people to “idolize” him since his story is very unique.

“Please don’t idolize me. I’m not your typical hooper/celeb or whatever you want to call it,” Pistons guard Derrick Rose wrote.

“Find out who you are, master something and find a way to express whatever you’ve mastered. It’s all about your perception. Once you do that I SWEAR it’s easier to see this game everyone is playing. Don’t be apart of the magic show. Look away! Spurious love please pls stay away!!!! Thanks for all the Gday wishes. Stay blessed King & Queens.”

Since winning his MVP award in 2011 with the Chicago Bulls, Rose has undergone four knee surgeries and been traded twice.

However, Rose rejuvenated his career during the 2018-19 season with the Minnesota Timberwolves when he averaged 18.0 points per game while making the vet minimum. Rose also scored a career-high 50 points against the Utah Jazz, a performance that captivated the sports world since everyone knows what Rose has been through.

Now on the Pistons, Rose is once again one of the best guards in the league. He averaged 18.1 points per game for Detroit before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March.

Rose becomes an unrestricted free agent in the offseason of 2021. Many Bulls fans want Rose to come back to Chicago so he can finish his career in his hometown.
