Avid fans of the storied franchise once again saw Lonzo Ball struggle with his shooting during the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. He only managed to knock down 1-of-9 attempts from the field, which resulted in him being benched in the entire fourth quarter. The rookie’s minutes were handed over to Jordan Clarkson, who has been playing consistently for the team since the start of the season.
When asked what he thinks Ball should do to end his shooting woes, the 25-year-old Missouri product said he needs time to improve his game, according to ClutchPoints' own Ryan Ward. It’s understandable that he is still learning the style of play in the NBA, and he is hopeful he will eventually get better as the season progresses.

Through 15 games, Ball is only averaging 9.0 points, on 30.3 percent shooting from the field, to go along with 6.6 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 32.3 minutes per game. However, his playing time is trending down, especially with the string of solid games Clarkson is having. It could affect his confidence as well and even result in him coming off the bench in the future if he continues to struggle.
It is crucial for Ball to start knocking down shots at a higher percentage, as his team is in the midst of a four-game homestand, which is a big chance for them to improve on their 6-9 record. The good news for him is he has veteran teammates who understand what he’s going through, and he can also rely on them to guide him as he adjusts to the demands of being a professional.
