Heading into the preseason, there's high expectations on the young players of the Los Angeles Lakers, including Kyle Kuzma.

Kuzma made a name for himself in the Summer League as a steal of the draft, as he captured its championship game's MVP Award. While many were surprised with his solid performances then, many wondered if he can continue playing at a high level moving forward. The answer is yes, as he once again lived up to expectations in their preseason opener on Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Head coach Luke Walton was asked about his thoughts on the 22-year-old's debut, and he said it does come as a shock to him anymore, as he knows he can sustain the momentum he currently has.

Despite only seeing 26 minutes of playing time, Kuzma led the Lakers with 19 points, on 75 percent shooting, to go along with five rebounds and one steal. He also looked comfortable on the floor and seems to have already immersed himself with the NBA's style of play.

Kuzma showed that he can score in a variety of ways, and if he can develop his passing game, as well as become a threat from the perimeter, it could set his future up for success even more. The good news for him is he has a good coaching staff and veteran teammates around, to help him improve further and become the best player that he can be.
