Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis was ruled out of the remainder of Saturday's scrimmage game against the Orlando Magic after suffering an eye injury, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

Davis had to be evaluated for the injury after getting poked in the eye in the first quarter, leaving many to wonder about the severity of it.

However, the Lakers ruled him out for the rest of the game.

Luckily, Davis did return to the bench in the second half, which is obviously a positive development for the Lakers moving forward.

Davis notched 12 points in 15 minutes in the Lakers' first scrimmage game against the Dallas Mavericks. He was averaging 26.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game before the NBA season was halted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With Davis and fellow star LeBron James leading the way, there's no doubt that the Lakers are one of the favorites to win the NBA title.

But in order to accomplish that goal, Los Angeles undoubtedly needs Davis at his best in order to compete for a championship in Orlando, so hopefully he won't be sidelined for any regular season games.

Frank Vogel's team is set to play its first regular season game of the Orlando restart on Thursday against the Los Angeles Clippers, and that's a matchup that certainly has a lot of intrigue surrounding it given both teams' potential.

The Lakers will face off against the defending NBA champion Toronto Raptors in their second game of the restart.
