Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball has a bone bruise in his left ankle and it could force him to miss even more time, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.
Ball suffered a Grade 3 left ankle sprain on Jan. 19 against the Houston Rockets. The Lakers said he was going to miss 4-6 weeks, but this bone bruise is likely going to extend his injury timeline.
In addition to the Grade 3 sprain, Lonzo Ball is also dealing with a bone bruise which could extend his timeline a little bit past the original six weeks. https://t.co/8XV3s3RGKG

In 47 games this season for the Lakers, Lonzo Ball is averaging 9.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per contest. The 21-year-old is shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 32.9 percent from beyond the arc and 41.7 percent from the free-throw line.
After beating the Rockets on Thursday, Los Angeles is 29-29 on the season, good for 10th place in the Western Conference standings. After acquiring shooting guard Reggie Bullock from the Detroit Pistons at the trade deadline, the Lakers are now starting LeBron James, Brandon Ingram, Bullock, Kyle Kuzma and JaVale McGee, with Rajon Rondo coming off the bench.
Ball was going to be included in the Anthony Davis trade package, but New Orleans didn't want to make a deal with Los Angeles. Lonzo is arguably the team's best perimeter defender and the Lakers' defense has been poor without him.
