Miami Heat veteran Udonis Haslem has opened up about his looming retirement plans. Now at the ripe age of 39, the 6-foot-8 big man is playing in season 17, so at this point, many expect him to call it a career sooner rather than later.

There has been talk about this year being Haslem's final season in the league. For his part, the three-time NBA champ refused to confirm nor deny this rumor, and instead, passed the burden onto his teammates and how they perform this season.

“You have to ask my teammates if this is my last season. It’s up to those guys,” Haslem said in August, per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. “If they send me out the right way, you don’t have to worry about me no more. But if they don’t take care of business, then I might be back again answering the same question again next year, ‘Is this your last dance?’ So it’s up to the guys.”

Well, based on the Heat's outstanding start to the new season, it does look like Haslem will be hanging it up by the end of this term. Miami are off to a tremendous start thus far, winning 19 out of the 26 games they've played this season. They have been almost invincible at home, losing only once (to the league-best Los Angeles Lakers) in 11 games in their home court.

Haslem talked about his team's very impressive play of late, admitting that he's definitely liking what he's seeing.

“So far, so good. I’ll leave it at that,” he said.

That's still a very cryptic statement from the long-term Miami servant, but if this does end up as his last dance, then surely, Haslem is going to be missed.
