NBA commissioner Adam Silver has given his two cents worth on the recent phenomenon in the league wherein teams and players have grown accustomed to switching teams without much hesitation. According to the league's top executive, he will not be surprised if this happens again in the upcoming free agency window.

“NBA players are more like everybody else than people might think,” Commissioner Adam Silver told Howard Beck of B/R. “And they are complicated. There are lots of things that affect them. Money is one of them, opportunity to win championships is part of it, desire to be happy, to create ideal situations for their families, to play in organizations that they feel speak to them. So I'm not surprised.”

This was definitely not the norm a decade or so ago, as it seems that back then, players put much more value on loyalty as compared to how it is viewed today. Nonetheless, commissioner Silver does well to try and explain this shift in mindset here, noting that nowadays, things are indeed much more complicated.

The upcoming free agency window is expected to be one of the busiest ones we've experienced in a long time — maybe even ever. With superstars such as Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, and Kyrie Irving (to name a few) set to become unrestricted free agents, their decisions could very well completely change the landscape of the NBA.

Silver knows how important this summer will be for the future of the league, and by the looks of it, he's all but ready for anything and everything it may throw at him.
