The National Basketball Association is going to allow teams to host NBA draft prospects for workouts, interviews, and medical evaluations this week.
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, the NBA has set a one-month time frame from Oct. 16 to Nov. 16 for teams to meet in-person with the 2020 NBA Draft prospects. Prior to this announcement, teams had been only meeting with the players remotely via video conference. The 2020 NBA Draft will be on Nov. 18.
The NBA is allowing teams to begin conducting in-person meetings (medical evaluation, workout) with 2020 Draft prospects from Oct. 16-Nov. 16, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Teams receiving up to two visits per player; no more than 10 total among prospects.

Per Jonathan Givony of ESPN (via a memo released by the league, teams may schedule 10 visits of up to four and a half hours with draft prospects for the purpose of in-person evaluations, interviews, or medical evaluation. Each team can only send up to three members of its personnel and one physician to the city where the prospect resides. Teams may meet only twice with any single player.
In addition, the NBA will continue implementing its strict COVID-19 guidelines:
Article Continues Below“Within 72 hours prior to any visit, all participants including players, trainers, team personnel and physicians must undergo and return a negative COVID-19 result from an FDA-approved PCR test. Test results for team personnel must be provided to the league office for verification. Team personnel must also undergo a daily temperature check within two hours of interacting with any player, self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, wear a face covering, refrain from physical interactions (i.e. shaking hands) and maintain physical distancing of six feet or more.”
The NBA has yet to set dates for the beginning of free agency, schedule of the training camps, and the opening night of the 2020-21 NBA season.
