The Florida Gators basketball program appeared to have filled another spot on their 2018 roster with the commitment of four-star prospect Andrew Nembhard.

Andrew Nembhard announced the news himself on his Twitter page while also thanking all the people who helped him secure a place to play in college and the recruiters who probably spent time laying out the pros of becoming a part of their programs.

This is good news for the program that has seemingly found their point guard of the future with Chris Chiozza graduating at the conclusion of this coming season.

Nembhard, who is 6-foot-4 and weighs 184 pounds, is the first to commit to Florida for 2018 and is currently ranked 46th overall by ESPN 100 among all 2018 prospects and 11th among point guards.

Considered slightly raw, but with potential oozing out of nearly every part of his body, the point guard will likely be tested by fire when arriving on campus next season. Rare are the top-100 players who see little time as freshman. Even rarer are those with this sort of electric talent who ride the bench even if a bit flawed when hitting the scene.

Florida also has an offer on the table for shooting guard Noah Locke, who is 64th in the ESPN 100 rankings, as the Gators are clearly looking to set themselves up for a great backcourt come 2018. We will keep you posted on that story as it develops.

Apart from the Gators, Nembhard, an Ontario native, was wooed by at least nine other schools, including Gonzaga, Connecticut, Ohio State, and USC.
