The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are putting together a stellar 2018 recruiting class. The team's latest commitment, Nate Laszewski, is a 4-star prospect out of that class.

“Just sitting down and evaluating my options, it just felt right,” Laszewski said to SCOUT. “I felt like I had the best relationship with the coaching staff there. I felt the University of Notre Dame could give me what I wanted in life.”

The 6-foot-9 Nate Laszewski is regarded as the No. 69 overall prospect in the Rivals national rankings as he’s the highest-rated prospect of the four currently pledged to Notre Dame.

After a productive spring and summer on the grassroots circuit, Notre Dame is getting a forward known for his grit and grime approach to the sport.

Prior to committing to the Fighting Irish, the forward also took official visits to Wake Forest and North Carolina.

Laszewski isn't only your typical bruiser around the rim. He is said to have some ability to stretch the floor, as he has a more than capable jumper, even if it needs some work.

“Sitting down and thinking about it the past copule of days, I just wanted to make my decision,” Laszewski said.

“They've been up to the school to see me a lot,” he added. “I talk to them all the tme and I really just liked that coaching staff.”

This is a huge get for the Irish for a variety of reasons. None likely bigger than the role he would be filling, as he will try to help replace the production of forward Bonzie Colson, who will be exhausting his eligibility after this season.

Laszewski joins four-star guards Prentiss Hubb, Robby Carmody and Dane Goodwin in Notre Dame’s Class of 2018 haul as of this writing.
