Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant showed off his poetic side on Wednesday in response to one Twitter troll who criticized his game.

The one-time league MVP fired back after one user pointed out that he supposedly has more tweets than career points. Ouch.

While that sounded like a sick burn on KD, the Nets forward responded with some lyrics from the song Grindin' by Clipse.

Apart from being one of the best talents in the league today, Kevin Durant does have a reputation for being overly active (no to mention overly sensitive) on social media. The 32-year-old megastar does not let things slide and often responds to the negativity he gets on Twitter.

His latest response, though, is a nice change of phase from the usual crude responses he gives his detractors. The ode to Richard “Pee Wee” Kirkland is also a nice touch, as the Nets scorer even likened himself to the former street basketball player and drug king pin, who is a “legend in two games”.

Durant's social media activity, meanwhile, has been the subject on controversy once more as of late. It wasn't that long ago when actor Michael Rappaport published KD's explicit responses to their DM beef. The Nets star's most recent online spat with TV host Shannon Sharpe has also elicited headlines.

Despite his off-court distractions, the two-time NBA champion still plays at a high level after missing a significant amount of games this season. Before sitting out once more versus the Philadelphia 76ers, Durant scored a total of 70 points in 70 minutes in his last three games for the Nets.

Head coach Steve Nash has been understandably cautious with Durant's playing time, but it hasn't stopped from producing in a high rate.

Brooklyn is currently tied with the Sixers for the best record in the Eastern Conference and needs to be as locked-in as possible to get solo lead of the number one seed. Their best bet would be for Durant to lay-off from Twitter for a while, but we all know that's not going to happen anytime soon.
