After recently signing with the Brooklyn Nets to round out the team's training camp roster, 31-year-old forward Lance Thomas was brutally honest about how he feels with his new team's cross-town rivals, the New York Knicks.

Himself a Brooklyn, New York resident and a lifelong Knicks fan, Thomas admitted that despite the new uniform he will be wearing this season, he will still remain to be a New York supporter for life.

This may not exactly what Brooklyn fans want to hear from their newest recruit, but at least Thomas was being completely honest here. We all know how loyal Knicks fans can get, and as it turns out, this also applies to NBA players themselves. Thomas made no effort to sugarcoat his love for the Knicks, which is probably something Nets fans will appreciate.

It is also worth noting that Thomas played four and a half seasons with New York prior to being waived by the team this summer. The 6-foot-8 forward obviously holds no ill will against his former side, and understands the Knicks' decision to let him go.

At the end of the day, what's important is how Thomas will perform on the court. He may be a Knicks fan at heart, but being a true professional, he will surely give his all for his new team. For NBA players, affiliations don't really matter when they take the floor, with their sole motivation to do everything in their power to help their team get the W.
