Joe Tsai was officially approved as controlling owner of the Brooklyn Nets this week. The Nets are expected to be one of the best teams in the NBA for the next four years after signing All-Stars Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre to four years deals this summer.

Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta met Joe Tsai for the first time on Friday and came away very impressed with the new Nets owner.

“It's really interesting. I met Joe this morning for the first time and I was very much impressed with Joe and I think that y'all got a great owner in Brooklyn that truly wants to win,” Fertitta told Ian Begley of SNY.

“And I look forward to him being one of my partners in the NBA, but I think that y'all are going to have a good team in Brooklyn for a long time because I think Joe's very competitive and wants to put a good team on the floor.”

The Nets made the playoffs last season with only one All-Star on the roster in D'Angelo Russell. Now, Brooklyn has three All-Stars and a great supporting cast headlined by Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, Spencer Dinwiddie and Joe Harris.

Durant is expected to miss the entire upcoming season due to his Achilles injury, but the Nets should still go far in the playoffs with Irving leading the way.

Once Durant comes back for the 2020-21 season, Brooklyn will be legitimate title contenders.
