Brooklyn Nets forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson suffered an injury while playing in Jeremy Lin's charity game in China, but the severity of the injury is unclear.

NetsDaily first reported that Hollis-Jefferson hurt himself while attempting a dunk.

According to an eyewitness at the “Hoop for Hope” event, Hollis-Jefferson went up for a dunk and on landing felt pain. He spoke to Lin, then headed directly to the locker room. He did not return and didn’t appear for the post-game team photo either.

Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports that Hollis-Jefferson is heading back to the United States, and the hope is the injury isn't “overly serious.”

The 23-year-old Hollis-Jefferson is coming off a strong third season that saw his numbers jump across the board. He averaged a career-high 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 28.3 minutes per game. He also shot a career-best 47.2 percent from the field.

Hollis-Jefferson's impact showed in the Nets' record when he played big minutes and when he didn't. Brooklyn went 24-35 in his 59 starts last season and 4-19 in the other 23 games. The youngster missed 14 games due to a groin injury and didn't start in nine other games.

Given Hollis-Jefferson's impact, the Nets really have to hope this injury isn't serious as they look to make a leap in the Eastern Conference next season.
