Brooklyn Nets forward Taurean Prince has nothing but good words for his new superstar teammate Kyrie Irving.

Prince was asked to give his thoughts on Irving, who was one of the two huge acquisitions of the Nets this offseason. The veteran forward said that he believes that Irving is a great thinker and is very competitive, which he thinks is the reason why he is one of the best guards in the league.

“He’s a deep thinker, and he thinks things differently than a lot of people, and I think that’s why he is who he is, in my opinion,” Prince said of Michael Scotto of The Athletic. “Great person from what I’ve met, very competitive, and very strong-minded.”

The 25-year-old forward is also excited to open a new chapter of his career. Prince spent his first three seasons in the league with the Atlanta Hawks, where he averaged 13.5 points and 3.6 rebounds in 55 games last season. The former Baylor standout was acquired by the Nets in a trade with the Hawks this offseason

Prince is expected to play a major supporting role to Irving and Kevin Durant — when the superstar forward returns from an Achilles injury. Durant agreed to a four-year, $164 million contract with the Nets this summer, ending his successful three-year stint with the Golden State Warriors.
