Indianapolis Colts tight end Eric Ebron has officially notched the franchise record for touchdowns at his position after a scoring catch in Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.

Ebron hauled in a 14-yard receiving touchdown from Andrew Luck with 2:57 left in the second quarter, which helped the fifth-year pro record his 12th touchdown of the season.

That was enough to help Ebron pass for Indianapolis great Dallas Clark for at the top of the single-season scoring list by a tight end, according to Colts reporter Andrew Walker.

It has been incredible to see Ebron's resurgence this season after compiling 53 receptions for only four touchdowns last season with the Detroit Lions.

But at 6-4, Ebron is an easy target to aim for in the red zone, and Andrew Luck has taken advantage of that this season in throwing to him on a number of occasions.

With Jack Doyle dealing with injury issues for the majority of the season, the Colts needed Ebron to step into a more prominent role, and he has undoubtedly delivered in a big way.

Indianapolis still has a shot at reaching the postseason, even if last week's 6-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars decreased the team's chances quite a bit.

And with Ebron and T.Y. Hilton being the most reliable targets for Luck in the passing game, it wouldn't be surprising to see both continue to rack up touchdowns during the stretch run of the season.
