New York Rangers backup goaltender Alexandar Georgiev is set to become a restricted free agent this offseason, but he's already drawing interest elsewhere. Per Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff, the Las Vegas Golden Knights are keen on trading for the netminder.

Per sources, the Golden Knights have also expressed interest in New York Rangers backup Alexandar Georgiev, who we previously reported let it be known that Georgiev feels he’s ready for a bigger opportunity elsewhere. There are likely others.

Georgiev isn't having the best campaign, however, possessing a .898 save percentage and allowing 2.99 GAA in 20 games (17 starts). He's had a tough time actually finding playing behind Vezina Trophy candidate Igor Shesterkin, who is a huge reason the Rangers have one of the lowest goals-against totals in the entire NHL.

The Golden Knights meanwhile, could use some help in between the posts. They allow 2.94 goals per game, which is the 19th worst in the league. Vegas has also expressed an interest in a reunion with Marc-Andre Fleury, but Georgiev is one of their main targets as well. If the Rangers did end up moving Georgiev, who is looking for a bigger role, they would have to pick from AHL affiliate Hartford for another backup.
